Entertaining at home during the summer is fun when you combine good friends, light fare and frosty, cool cocktails. Try preparing a light meal of grilled garlic shrimp and fresh vegetables, tomatoes with mozzarella and basil with a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette, melon wrapped with prosciutto and fresh berries over fluffy biscuits with homemade whipped cream. Add some extra sunny fun to this easy party by concocting one of buyDCcondos.com’s favorite Top Ten Summer Cocktails. It will add that extra zing to your wonderful evening at home.

1. Lily Hammer (Lillehammer)

11/2oz of Ketel One Vodka

11/2oz of Lemonade

1oz of 100% Juice Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice

Pour over Ice and Stir

Add a thin slice of Lemon and Lime

2. The Ava

11/2oz Massenez Crème de Citron Vert et Gingembre Liqueur

11/2oz Ketel One Vodka

Pour over Ice and Stir

Top with Canada Dry Ginger Ale and a Lemon Twist

3. Hole In One 2012

11/2oz Maker’s Mark Bourbon

1Tbs Honey

3oz Unsweetened Tea

Pour over Ice and Stir with a Lemon Twist

4. Sanami’s Tsunami

1oz Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

1/2oz Myers’s Dark Rum

1/2oz Malibu Coconut Flavor Caribbean Rum

4oz Pineapple Juice

1/2oz Grenadine

Combine over Ice

Add a Pineapple Slice and Strawberry

5. Capitol Cosmos

Mix in a Large, Fun, Martini Shaker

2oz Cointreau Liqueur

Add a Ton of Ice

8oz Ketel One Vodka (Ketel One Citroen Vodka adds a nice zip!)

3oz 100% Juice Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice

Cover Shaker and Shake Hard Until the Ice is "Bruised"

Pour into Chilled Martini Glasses with a Lemon Slice

6. Bellini

When served ice cold, this sparkling wine with a touch of peach flavor will bring your dinner guests back to the outdoor cafes of Venice, Florence and Rome. We have never found a great recipe that duplicates the delicate original taste of Italian white peaches. However, the next best thing we have found is Canella’s pre-made Bellini. Serve it ICE COLD in a champagne glass. You won’t be disappointed.

7. Prosecco Mojito

This is by far the most fun drink of the batch! It takes some work, but well worth it. Here is the recipe via FoodGawker.com. 

8. Shandy Beer

1/2 pitcher of Corona Beer

1/2 pitcher of Ice Cold Lemonade

Mix and Pour

Easy Peasey! Great for a Cook-Out!!

9. Tiger Lilly

1/2oz Cointreau Liqueur

11/2oz Tangueray Gin

1oz Pineapple Juice

Add Ice and Stir

10. Chesapeake Breeze (from Irish Inn at Glen Echo)

13/4oz Ketel One Citroen

11/2oz Chambord Liqueur

11/2oz Pomegranate Liqueur

Splash of 100% Juice Ocean Spray Cranberry Juice

Mix and Pour in a Mason Jar for Fun
